Autism support for children in Cairo
CIPPO supports autistic children and their families through DIR Floortime sessions, social communication work and support inside school, in a way that respects who the child is. CIPPO is based in New Cairo and works with families across Cairo.
Autistic children are as different from one another as any children. These are some of the things parents tell us they noticed first. Prefers to play alone, or plays beside other children more than with them. Uses few words or gestures to share an interest, or rarely points to show you something. Needs routines to stay the same, and small changes cause real distress. Is very sensitive to sound, touch, light or texture, or seeks them out. Has deep, focused interests, and repeats movements or phrases. Often does not answer to their name, although their hearing is fine. None of these alone means a child is autistic. Together, and over time, they are a reason to look more closely.
Following the child's lead. DIR Floortime is a relationship-based approach. The practitioner joins what your child is already doing and builds from there, working on shared attention, emotional regulation and purposeful communication through play that the child leads.
No masking expected. CIPPO's practice is neurodiversity-affirming. The aim is not to make a child look less autistic. It is connection, communication, regulation and independence, at the child's pace.
Using language with other people. Social Speech Development works on the social side of communication: taking turns in a conversation, reading another person's point of view and putting feelings into words.
Daily skills and the senses. The Adaptive Skills Profile describes what your child manages independently day to day, and the Sensory Profile describes how they respond to sound, touch and movement. Both use Pearson questionnaires and give written recommendations.
Many parents come to us looking for a shadow teacher for an autistic child. A CIPPO inclusion practitioner does that job inside the school day, helping with regulation, joining class routines and taking part with other children, and works to a written plan under supervision.
Sessions are delivered by CIPPO practitioners from psychology, speech and language support, occupational support and education, who work as one team under supervision.

What is DIR Floortime?
DIR Floortime is a developmental, relationship-based approach. Instead of drilling set tasks, the adult follows the child's interests and uses play to build shared attention, back-and-forth interaction and communication. CIPPO offers it as single sessions and as a program.
Does my child need a diagnosis before starting?
No. Sessions start from what your child enjoys and what they find hard, whether or not there is a report.
Can CIPPO support my autistic child at school?
Yes. CIPPO's School Inclusion service places a trained inclusion practitioner with a child during the school day, and CIPPO has worked with more than 30 international and bilingual schools in Egypt.
What ages does CIPPO work with?
CIPPO works with children and teenagers from about 2 to 18. The practitioner shapes each session to your child's age and stage.
